The beautiful thing about photography is not only are you helping capture exuberant smiles but you’re also being uplifted as well and it is so wonderfully infectious. Today’s post is from a great baby photo session I had with the photogenic James as the star of the show. His Aunt wanted a photo shoot for baby James to surprise his parents at Christmas with a few canvas prints. So this shoot was clandestine, secretive and for a good cause…I was all in!

Memorial Day Weekend, Graduations and a Camera

As a photographer some of the best jobs are of the unplanned variety. Recently over the Memorial Day weekend I did a lot of travelling for graduations. Two flights, two states, two graduations, and had a blast making great memories and eating great food. As always, I brought my camera with me and was able to capture some great moments.

Celebrating a remarkable milestone birthday

Pagenkopf's 21st B-Day Bash_11 copy

“You have to have a Jell-O shot! Come on, it’s just one!”

Such is life when you’re photographing a 21st birthday party. I chuckled and politely declined to a chorus of bemoaning. This quickly changed to laughter and I had to laugh as well.  The laughter just filled the air. It traveled from room to room, from indoors to the guests outside. Everyone from all ages was festive and mingling and why not? The guests of honor were a set of triplets, Aaron, Natalie and Jessie. Friends, family and extended family were there to bid a happy 21st to these remarkable siblings.

Engagement, Chancing Mother Nature and Laughing Throughout

Dariuss and Nadine Portrait in Black and White
A black and white portrait shot of Nadine and Dariuss. See more photos here.

Sometimes you don’t realize how the little things can turn out to be such a blessing. This was the case with my engagement photo session with Nadine and Dariuss. They had always been complimentary of my photography at family functions then one day they asked me to photograph the two of them before their upcoming wedding. I couldn’t believe it. At this point I had not performed a couple’s session before. They were giving me an opportunity to help capture the love they feel for each other. Once I picked up my jaw off the floor I said yes and we worked out a location and time. I was beyond excited. They took a chance on me and it turned into a lifetime of memories.
